Description
Viburnum Opulus
Anti-spasmodic,
anti-inflammatory, nervine,
hypotensive, astringent,
emmenagogue, sedative, relaxant, cardiac tonic, uterine relaxant.
Traditional Uses:
Internal: Good for menstrual cramps, period pains, threatened miscarriage, hiccoughs. Lower back, leg spasms, muscle spasms and pain.
External: Can be made into poultice or cream for spasms and pain.
Directions to use:
Decoction: 1 – 2 teaspoons (2g – 4g) of bark in 1 cup of water. Bring to boil and simmer for 10 – 15min. Drink three times per day.
Safety precautions:
Do not use if pregnant or lactating. People on blood thinning medication need to be monitored closely. Consult with a medical practitioner before use.
