vulnerary, emmenagogue
Traditional Uses:
Used to assist treatment of bronchitis, in cases when patient has a non-productive cough. May be used in the treatment of whooping cough. Can also be used for common colds. Has a stimulating effect on the digestive system and may improve poor appetite. It has a positive effect on the liver function. May assist in normalizing an irregular heartbeat.
Directions to use:
Infusion: Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 0.5-1 teaspoon of herb. Keep covered and infuse for 10-15min. Take 1 tablespoon at a time as needed or drink three cups a day.
Safety precautions:
Stay within dosages, at high dosages can have cardio-active and uterine stimulation effects. Do not use if pregnant or lactating. Consult with a medical practitioner before use.
