Anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory,

demulcent, vulnerary, emollient,

anti-puretic (reduces itching).

Traditional Uses:

Internal: Used for rheumatism. Chest infections. Soothing effect on the skin. May ease the irritation of a sore throat. May be beneficial in the treatment of asthma.

External: Most common as a remedy for various skin diseases, such as: cuts, wounds, itching, dermatitis, skin irritation, eczema, psoriasis, and varicose veins. Also used in the treatment of vaginal irritation associated with oestrogen levels.

Directions to use:

Infusion: Pour 1 cup of boiled water over 1 – 2 teaspoons of crushed seeds. Infuse for 10 – 15min. Drink three times per day. Can be used in ointments and creams.

Do not use if pregnant or lactating. Not to be given to children. Consult with a medical practitioner before use.
